PURPOSE
We are seeking an experienced Finance Professional to join us as an essential part of the ECB Finance Team. This role will be responsible for leading key financial processes, including month-end, year-end, financial reporting, tax and audit. We are looking for an organised and resourceful individual, who can communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders, is confident challenging processes to improve accuracy and efficiency and is looking to thrive as part of a collaborative finance team.

YOU’LL BE DOING
- Lead on year-end processes, including preparation of the group statutory accounts, lead contact for external auditors, and support on the corporation tax process, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
- Take ownership of month-end close and quarter-end review processes, including balance sheet reconciliations, and preparation, review and approval of journals.
- Lead on overseas tax compliance, including double taxation.
- Prepare and submit the Group’s VAT returns.
- Business Partner to the cricket network, managing the payments, invoicing, reporting and monitoring of ECB financial transactions with the PCCs and NCCAs, maintaining strong stakeholder relationships and offering appropriate support.
- Support the Financial Controller on the company insurance programme.
- Work with the England Cricket Team Management, ICC and other National Governing Bodies to oversee financial requirements and transactions.
- Work with the ECB Commercial Team to monitor and accurately account for revenue, contracts, and invoicing.
- Support the ECB People Team on payroll, pensions, and employee insurance.
- Ad hoc projects are required to support tax and financial requirements of internal and external stakeholders.
Although not a comprehensive list this will form the majority of the responsibilities with additional ad-hoc financial elements being required from time to time. Please note that this role is office-based and requires you to be in the office a minimum of three days per week.
YOU’LL HAVE
- A recognised qualification in accounting or finance, such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent, with a minimum of 3 years PQE.
- Experience in a group reporting or technical accounting role.
- Experience of UK VAT and Tax processes is essential, with good knowledge of overseas VAT and WHT desirable.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, with a confident, collaborative, and proactive approach.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
- An ability to effectively prioritise and work to tight deadlines.
