The Role

We need a safe pair of hands to step in and manage end-to-end social media channels for our premium sports clients. You'll understand the mechanics of audience growth, short-form video optimisation, and managing the strict brand guidelines, approvals and rights sensitivities that come with tier-one sporting intellectual property.

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop, curate and execute social-first content strategies across major platforms, including YouTube/Shorts, TikTok, Instagram and X.
  • Repurpose long-form premium broadcast footage and match coverage into highly engaging highlights, clips and viral short-form assets.
  • Write sharp, platform-native copy that resonates deeply with sports fans.
  • Monitor community sentiment, manage fan engagement and capitalise on real-time trending sports culture and memes.
  • Collaborate with our internal creative and production teams to ensure content is optimised for platform algorithms.
  • Make light-touch amends to existing graphic assets in Adobe InDesign and Photoshop, then prepare and publish them across social channels.
  • Manage day-to-day publishing, scheduling, copywriting and channel hygiene across client accounts.
  • Brief and work with editors, designers and producers to shape social-first creative.
  • Navigate approvals, embargoes, usage restrictions and rights-sensitive workflows with confidence.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 2+ years in sports social media management.
  • Proven experience with sports rights holders: You have spent time working directly for, or alongside, sports teams, leagues, governing bodies, major sports broadcasters, or high-profile athlete networks.
  • You understand complex approvals, embargoes, IP sensitivities and how to sweat digital assets creatively.
  • Video-first mindset: You know exactly what makes a thumb-stopping YouTube Short, TikTok, or Reel. You understand hook pacing, audio trends and how to package a sports highlight for maximum engagement.
  • Platform expertise: Deep knowledge of platform algorithms and social analytics. If you have specific experience navigating the YouTube ecosystem, that’s a massive bonus. Experience managing YouTube live streams is also a plus.
  • Sports knowledge: Strong understanding of sports culture, fan behaviour and real-time sporting conversation. Knowledge of a wide variety of sports is a must.
  • Tools and workflow: Confident using tools such as YouTube Studio, TikTok Business Suite, Meta Business Suite, X, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, social scheduling platforms, Google Sheets and analytics dashboards.
  • Autonomy and speed: You are used to the fast-paced nature of sports media, agile turnarounds and can manage your workload independently as a freelancer.
