Are you looking for an exciting role in a busy internal comms team in government? Do you have a passion for creating engaging content across a range of channels that connects people and communicates key messages across the whole organisation? If so, we have a fantastic opportunity for you to join Building Digital UK (BDUK) as our new Internal Communications, Engagement and Digital Manager.
BDUK is an executive agency of the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology. It’s mission? Helping to bring fast and reliable broadband and mobile coverage to hard-to-reach places across the UK – transforming people’s lives.
In this newly created role, you’ll be part of BDUK’s small but mighty internal comms team. From crafting compelling stories and developing cutting-edge digital platforms to designing and delivering outstanding internal events, the successful applicant will help to ensure BDUK’s 320 staff are informed and inspired.
Content development: Lead on the creating, editing, and publishing of internal communications content, with a strong focus on our digital channels including our intranet platform. As well as producing excellent written content, we are looking for someone who is good at creating innovative imagery, graphics and videos to bring our messages to life.
Stakeholder engagement: Work closely with colleagues across the organisation to gather content, generate ideas, and plan timely delivery.
Project coordination: Manage and support internal communication projects – such as all staff events by working on their planning, delivery and evaluation.
Channel management: Support the smooth running of internal communications channels – including our intranet and events – through excellent planning and delivery
Event management: Provide support for internal events, including coordination, booking venues, diary management and setting up and testing of visual and AV equipment.
Evaluation: Use GCS evaluation and insight methodology to monitor progress against an agreed set of objectives
Team support: As part of a busy internal comms team, support other team members as required and take part in shared activities, such as answering internal comms queries.
