BDS are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Housing Support Worker in Warrington. The role is to assist individuals in securing and maintaining suitable accommodation. The role involves providing guidance, mentoring, and practical support to clients facing housing challenges. This is a full-time temporary ongoing role to start ASAP working Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm that could lead to permanent employment at a later date. Pay starts from £12.75 PAYE plus holiday pay or £16.38 umbrella.
Duties:
- Offer personalised support and mentoring to clients, helping them develop skills for independent living.
- Assist clients with housing applications, tenancy agreements, and related documentation using organisational skills.
- Provide guidance on accessing local services, including healthcare, employment, and social support networks.
- Conduct regular check-ins to monitor client wellbeing and address any emerging needs or concerns.
- Deliver excellent customer service by maintaining a respectful, empathetic approach at all times.
- Support clients in developing life skills such as budgeting, organisation, and communication skills.
Criteria:
- Proven experience in mentoring or supporting vulnerable individuals is desirable.
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases efficiently.
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Driving licence and own vehicle.
- Experience/Knowledge of social housing is advantageous but not essential.
