Job Title: Housing support worker Location: Truro Hours: 36 hours per week over 5 days on a rolling rota between the hours of 8.30am and 8.30pm Contract: Temporary contract with potential of to become permanent Salary: £15.36 per hour paye or £19.64 per hour via umbrella Position : Do you thrive helping possible tenants get into accommodation where they feel safe? BDS Recruitment are looking for an experienced Housing Support Worker to work in Truro. The complex consists of 15 spaces. The role will include supporting vulnerable tenants who may have a history of mental health issues, substance misuse or homelessness to maintain their tenancies and live independently. Key duties: * Providing responsive, person-centred assistance to individuals with complex needs, helping them achieve positive outcomes and independence. * Build open and trusting relationships with residents, colleagues, and partner agencies to ensure seamless and comprehensive support. * Encourage individuals to engage in social, educational and employment opportunities, preventing isolation and promoting self-determination. * Conduct risk assessments and maintain professional boundaries, ensuring health, safety and compliance with safeguarding policies. Essential Criteria: * Have an understanding of support needs and support planning. * Have experience of risk assessing and risk management. * Have accurate record keeping and computer skills. * Confident in lone working and be a good team player. * Have a flexible working approach to work.
