BDS Recruitment are recruiting for a Property Repairs Inspector to provide efficient and proactive property inspections and technical support to responsive repairs, planned maintenance, compliance and adaptations. This role is working across retirement housing properties in and around Oldham.

Main Duties

  • Work as part of a team to ensure that responsive repairs services are delivered effectively and that contractors work according to high quality and contractual standards in line with relevant legislation.
  • Advise on priorities and costs for repairs, maintenance and lifecycle programmes, contributing towards the development and delivery of the asset management planning process.
  • Carry out property inspections including: health and safety inspections; stock condition surveys; EPC surveys; in progress and post-inspection of works.
  • Liaise with Housing Managers, the Property Services Team, Contractors and Customers to ensure necessary repair, cyclical maintenance or replacement works identified are ordered and completed within agreed and contractual timescales.
  • Carry out void inspections, specifying required works and ensure that works to voids are completed promptly, necessary handover paperwork is in place, and follow up work is ordered in line with policy and procedure.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in repairs field and working with residents in a social housing setting.
