BDS Recruitment are working with a Local Authority for a Building Surveying Manager to work across the Ipswich area. This is a permanent opportunity with a salary of £50,000 per annum. This is a Hybrid working role – 2 days at office and 3 days (home working).

Specifically, this post will be responsible for:

  • Acting as one of the Building Surveying Managers being accountable for the delivery of various work streams and managing a team of surveyors.
  • Acting as a Senior Building Surveyor undertaking Building Surveying work.
  • Ensuring all performance and service targets are met within the Building Surveying Service and developing staff to their full potential.
  • Ensuring all activity is completed to the standards expected.

Examples of surveying work includes surveying housing defects, managing damp and mould in line with Awaab's Law, party wall agreements, tenant own improvements, disrepair claims, boundary wall disputes, energy performance certificates, improvements and planned surveys, designing and specifying works, project managing work, feasibility studies, stock condition, managing an adaptations service (list not exhaustive).
