Role Overview
The Product Manager – Residential Air Source Heat Pumps is responsible for the commercial success of Baxi Heating’s residential ASHP portfolio. The role owns the end‐to‐end product lifecycle, from market insight and new product development through launch, optimisation and end‐of‐life management, ensuring sustainable revenue growth, margin performance and market share.
Operating within an established UK HVAC manufacturing environment, the role acts as the central link between engineering, R&D, manufacturing, sales, marketing, supply chain and regulatory teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Product Strategy & Ownership
- Own and evolve Baxi Heating’s residential heat pump product strategy aligned to UK & Ireland business objectives.
- Act as the recognised internal product owner and subject matter expert for residential ASHP solutions.
- Develop and maintain a multi‐year product roadmap aligned to regulatory change, market trends and portfolio strategy.
- New Product Development & Market Launch
- Lead end‐to‐end NPD and Market Launch Process (MLP) activities from concept through launch and post‐launch review.
- Define product requirements, specifications, performance targets, pricing frameworks and launch timing.
- Work closely with BDR Thermea Group R&D and engineering teams to ensure technical feasibility, quality and compliance.
- Product Lifecycle Management
- Manage the full product lifecycle including introduction, growth, optimisation, range rationalisation and end‐of‐life.
- Drive range simplification and cost‐down initiatives to improve operational efficiency and profitability.
- Ensure accuracy of product data, documentation and specifications.
- Commercial Performance
- Own revenue, margin and profitability for the residential heat pump portfolio.
- Develop pricing strategies that balance competitiveness, value positioning and margin protection.
- Monitor sales performance, forecast demand and support annual budgeting and strategy cycles.
- Market, Customer & Channel Focus
- Act as the voice of the customer, incorporating installer, merchant, developer and end‐user feedback.
- Commission and interpret market research, customer insight and competitive analysis.
- Support sales teams with product training, technical positioning and customer engagement.
- Marketing & Go‐To‐Market
- Work with marketing to develop compelling value propositions, launch materials and sales collateral.
- Ensure sales teams and channel partners are equipped to execute effectively.
- Support exhibitions, industry events and customer demonstrations.
- Regulatory, Innovation & Future Development
- Track and interpret UK and EU regulatory developments.
- Translate regulatory change into clear product and portfolio requirements.
- Identify innovation opportunities in system design, controls, integration and installer experience.
- Stakeholder Management
- Build strong cross‐functional relationships across Baxi Heating and the wider Group commercial functions.
- Collaborate with central Product Management and Development Unit teams.
- Engage cross functionally to influence component roadmaps and future capability.

- Proven experience in a Product Manager role.
- Strong understanding of residential air source heat pump systems.
- Demonstrable experience leading NPD projects and product launches.
- Commercially astute with experience owning pricing, margin and revenue performance.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.

- Experience within HVAC, heat pumps or building services manufacturing.
