The Product Manager – Commercial Portfolio Expert is responsible for the commercial success of Baxi Heating’s commercial portfolio. The role owns the end to end product lifecycle, from market insight and new product development through launch, optimisation and end of life management, ensuring sustainable revenue growth, margin performance and market share.

Operating within an established UK HVAC manufacturing environment, the role acts as the central link between engineering, R&D, manufacturing, sales, marketing, supply chain, customers’ voice and regulatory teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product Strategy & Ownership • Own and evolve Baxi Heating’s Heat Network and HIU (Heat Interface Unit) product strategy aligned to UK & Ireland business objectives. Will drive and measure successful delivery of those products and solutions in UK and Ireland.
  • • Be a Use Case owner for UK and Ireland and build clear value proposition with use cases such as renovation apartment building and new apartment building.
  • • Act as the recognised internal product owner and subject matter expert for Heat Network, HIU and apartment solutions.
  • • Develop and maintain a multiyear product and solution roadmap aligned to regulatory change, market trends and portfolio strategy; with levels of priority.
  • New Product Development & Market Launch • Lead end to end NPD and Market Launch Process (MLP) activities from concept through launch and post-launch review.
  • • Define product requirements, specifications, performance targets, pricing frameworks and launch timing; by working closely with internal stakeholders of UK & Ireland OpCo (Operating Company).
  • • Work closely with BDR Thermea Group R&D, BDR Thermea Group Commercial BA (Business Area) and engineering teams to ensure technical feasibility, quality and compliance.
  • Product Lifecycle Management • Manage the full product lifecycle including introduction, growth, optimisation, range rationalisation and end of life.
  • • Drive range simplification and cost down initiatives to improve operational efficiency and profitability.
  • • Ensure accuracy of product data, documentation and specifications.
  • Commercial Performance • Own revenue, margin and profitability for the residential heat pump portfolio.
  • • Develop pricing strategies that balance competitiveness, value positioning and margin protection.
  • • Monitor sales performance, forecast demand and support annual budgeting and strategy cycles.
  • Market, Customer & Channel Focus • Act as the voice of the customer, incorporating installer, merchant, developer and end user feedback.
  • • Commission and interpret market research, customer insight and competitive analysis.
  • • Support sales teams with product training, technical positioning and customer engagement.
  • • Engage in VoC (Voice of Customers) sessions.
  • Marketing & GoToMarket • Work with marketing to develop compelling value propositions, launch materials and sales collateral.
  • • Train sales team on launch of new Products & Solutions.
  • • Ensure sales teams and channel partners are equipped to execute effectively.
  • • Support exhibitions, industry events and customer demonstrations.
  • Regulatory, Innovation & Future Development • Track and interpret UK and EU regulatory developments.
  • • Translate regulatory change into clear product and portfolio requirements.
  • • Identify innovation opportunities in system design, controls, integration and installer experience.
  • Stakeholder Management • Build strong cross-functional relationships across Baxi Heating, BDR group and the wider Group commercial functions.
  • • Collaborate with central Product Management, Commercial BA and Development Unit teams.
  • • Engage cross-functionally to influence component roadmaps and future capability.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Essential

  • • Proven experience in a Product Manager role, or strong understanding of the commercial HVAC industry.
  • • Demonstrable experience leading NPD projects and product launches.
  • • Commercially astute with experience owning pricing, margin and revenue performance.
  • • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.

Desirable

  • • Experience within HVAC or building services manufacturing.
  • • Familiarity with UK low-carbon heating regulations and standards.
  • • Experience working with installer, merchant, M&E, contractors.
