As a Product Design Engineer, you will:
- Take key requirements and deliver them through the use of innovative design solutions.
- Follow and work within our well-defined New Product Development and Introduction process, working alongside other business functions who will actively support you and ensure that the product seamlessly transitions from design through to manufacture and ultimately being delivered to a customer.
- Deliver robust and high-quality CAD, 3D/2D design data that will become the datum point from which all subsequent engineering data will be translated from.
- Ensure that the latest standards and regulations that affect our products are effectively interpreted into the design.
- Proactively identify key risks pertaining to the safety, quality and reliability of products and where necessary work alongside colleagues across the business to put in place controls as mitigation.
- Support rapid prototyping, functional lab testing and work with your colleagues to interpret and analyse test data.
You will have:
- An engineering qualification to degree/HND/HNC level or equivalent experience.
- Extensive Mechanical Design experience with sheet metal, plastics, and general manufacturing materials and processes.
- Fully conversant with product standards and regulations as well as having knowledge of the appropriate procedures for the design, development, installation and safe use of domestic appliances.
- High proficiency in solid modelling Computer Aided Design with experience of FEA and DFMEA techniques.
