We are looking for a professional and reliable HGV Class 1 (C+E) Driver to join our transport team. You will be delivering primarily to RDCs using high-quality trucks (less than 2 years old), with no loading or unloading required. The Person: We are looking for an enthusiastic and professional HGV Class 1 driver with a strong safety mindset and a customer-focused approach. You will have a minimum of 6 months’ proven commercial driving experience and a sound understanding of EU Working Time and Driving Time Regulations. You are reliable, compliant, safety-conscious and comfortable communicating effectively with the Transport Team regarding any delays or issues.
The Role: As an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will be responsible for delivering and collecting goods to and from customer premises as instructed by the Transport Team, ensuring all legal and company standards are met. The role operates Monday to Friday with typical start times between 4:00am and 11:00am. There will be a requirement for 2–3 nights out per week (expenses paid). Minimum contracted hours are 41.25 per week, with overtime available.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out daily driver defect reports and report any issues to management.
- Deliver and collect goods from RDCs in line with company instructions.
- Adhere to all legal requirements and best practice standards.
- Communicate any delays or issues to the Transport Office promptly.
- Follow all Health & Safety policies at all times.
- Report any incidents or hazards immediately.
- Ensure compliance with EU driving hours and Working Time regulations.
- Maintain a professional and courteous approach with customers.
Requirements:
- Valid C+E (Class 1) Driving Licence with fewer than 6 penalty points.
- No previous driving disqualifications.
- Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Fluent in English.
- Minimum 6 months’ commercial Class 1 driving experience.
- Good understanding of EU Working Time and Driving Time regulations.
- Willingness to complete a driving assessment prior to offer.
Rates of Pay: £36,113.17 per annum. Overtime paid when required. £25 per night out allowance.
