Stage Door is an opportunity created by Good Chance for people from refugee backgrounds at the early stage of their careers to participate in bespoke traineeships to develop their skills, networks and professional experience.
At Bradford Producing Hub (BPH), we’ve partnered with live events organisations for over three years to host transformative paid work placements. We’re now proud to partner with Good Chance to offer a traineeship within our own team for an aspiring producer to gain hands‑on experience in producing events and artist development programmes.
We’re looking for someone excited about supporting the growth of artists and contributing to a vibrant arts sector here in Bradford, while building their own experience as an Assistant Producer.

Who is this placement for?
This traineeship is for you if you are:
- At the beginning of your career and bring with you the strength and perspective of someone with lived experience of displacement including refugees and asylum seekers with the right to work in the UK (check eligibility)
- Living in the Bradford district or have a demonstrable connection to Bradford
- 18 years old or over when the traineeship starts
- Interested in developing a career in producing or arts administration
- Proactive and eager to learn and make the most of this opportunity
- Keen to get involved and get hands‑on as part of our training sessions and events
- Organised with your time and good at working collaboratively as part of a team
- Experienced in basic IT skills, including the use of email and Word documents
- Available throughout the traineeship period (if there are any weeks that you can’t do, please speak to us as there may be some flexibility)

Traineeship fee
You will be paid £120 per day for 24 days of work – that’s £2,880 in total.
8 September – 28 November 2025 (12 weeks): 2 days per week, with one day ideally being Mondays.
We can adapt the working schedule to fit around your other commitments, such as family responsibilities, appointments, or other work.

The Assistant Producer will support the BPH team with the planning, design, delivery, and evaluation of our training programmes and events. You will gain hands‑on experience working in an arts development organisation and develop your skills and networks.
You will have a main point of contact at BPH, who will provide regular check‑ins and support you with your work. The Good Chance team will provide additional support throughout the placement period, including group cohort sessions with other Stage Door trainees to share skills, build networks and wellbeing support.
There will also be funding available for you to attend professional development activities, which may include training days, skills sessions and webinars, or theatre and event outings.
Following the placement, BPH will offer up to 3 additional mentoring sessions, looking specifically at what’s next, and helping with further development and career opportunities. You will also be invited to remain a part of the Stage Door network, which will include further development opportunities in the future, as well as tickets, outings and networking.
The Assistant Producer placement is a training and development role, open specifically to people from a refugee background with lived experience of displacement and/or seeking asylum. We welcome applications from people who currently have the right to work in the UK , including those seeking asylum who are permitted to work .
