Role Scope: Ocean Export Team Leader responsibility based in Dartford. Back up to Department Manager and providing support when requested.
Responsibilities:
- Providing excellent customer service to customers and overseas partners.
- Working closely with colleagues, ensuring to maintain the highest level of operational performance.
- Resolving accounting issues and queries as directed by management, ensuring these are dealt with in a timely manner.
- Identifying and providing early warning to your direct line manager on any issues and problems that could adversely affect deadlines.
- Building and maintaining relationships (internal/external).
- Discussing task delegation and reviewing issues with direct line manager.
- Fast response to all enquiries.
- Assisting in the interview and recruitment of team members.
- Working closely with direct line manager to identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Handling escalations from customers and internally.
- Proactively resolving internal or external issues quickly.
- Assisting with training new team members.
- Any other duties as required by management.
Authorities:
- Authorised to perform responsibilities autonomously, using initiative to escalate any material impact to the business, as appropriate.
- Identifying any opportunities for improvements in overall service quality and business safety.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum of 4 years of extensive Ocean (Export/Import) experience.
- Minimum of 2 years Supervisory role within the freight forwarding industry would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of various local and International shipping and freight forwarding practices.
- Combined excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong ability to analyse situations and make good decisions based on available information.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing policies and procedures.
