An accountancy and business advisory firm, providing the advice and solutions entrepreneurial organisations need to navigate today’s changing world. We work with the companies that are Britain’s economic engine: ambitious, entrepreneurially-spirited and high growth businesses that fuel the economy - and directly advise the owners and management teams that lead them.

Working hard and working together, our Tax team thrives on keeping busy. Friendly, driven and diverse, they service our clients across the country and around the world. By providing expertise in many different specialist areas of tax, they collaborate across BDO to deliver wider business solutions. From meeting clients' evolving business needs to managing changes to legislation, there are always fresh challenges to face in the Tax team.

Leading organisations trust us because of the quality of our advice. That quality grows from a thorough understanding of their business, and that understanding comes from working closely with them and building long-lasting relationships. You’ll be someone who is both comfortable working proactively and managing your own tasks, as well as confident collaborating with others and communicating regularly with senior managers, directors, and BDO’s partners to help businesses effectively.

BDO’s Tax Accounting Group is a national group bringing together tax professionals who specialise in tax accounting and tax audit work. Headed by an equity partner, we can offer an exciting and quality career path for ambitious people. This role will provide tax audit support on our largest, high-profile audits across a range of groups and sectors. Just as key will be acting as a tax accounting specialist to our non-audit clients, assisting with complex provisioning engagements and the tax accounting aspects of GAAP conversions, carve out accounting and acquisition accounting.

Clients and audited entities include FTSE companies, AIM listed companies, large inbounds and private equity backed businesses. You will be responsible for a number of tax audits, acting as the point of contact with the main audit team, and working closely with junior staff and tax partners to deliver this work. You will also work on a number of ad hoc, project-based engagements working with other BDO teams, using your tax accounting knowledge in different contexts to deliver the best to our clients. You will act as a key contact for tax accounting queries for the wider tax and audit practices and be involved in coaching and training more junior members of the team.

If you can demonstrate the following skills, we can help you go far:

  • Prior experience of tax accounting and tax auditing, with a clear desire to specialise in this area.
  • Knowledge of tax accounting under FRS102 and IFRS.
  • General corporate tax experience providing corporate tax advisory and compliance services to a variety of clients.
  • Good project management skills, including meeting agreed deadlines, taking ownership and managing a team.
  • Experience of coaching and training more junior staff.

We’re committed to agile working, and we offer every colleague the opportunity to work in ways that suit you, your teams, and the task at hand. At BDO, we’ll help you achieve your personal goals and career ambitions, and we have programmes, resources, and frameworks that provide clarity and structure around career development. Our agile working framework helps us stay connected, bringing teams together where and when it counts so they can share ideas and help one another. BDO’s people represent a wealth of knowledge and expertise, and we’ll encourage you to build your network, work alongside others, and share your skills and experiences. At BDO, we help entrepreneurial businesses to succeed, fuelling the UK economy.

Across the UK thousands of unique minds continue to come together to help companies we work with to achieve their ambitions.
