Our clients are Britain’s economic engine – ambitious, entrepreneurially-spirited and high‑growth businesses that fuel the economy - and the owners and management teams that lead them.
Our rapidly growing Private Client Team manage funds, businesses and trusts of individuals, families and entrepreneurs. Alongside solving a constantly evolving range of technical challenges, working in this team means building strong relationships with individuals so you can become their trusted advisor and oversee their tax affairs in line with what they want to achieve as an individual or business.

You’ll need excellent people skills and strong technical ability as you visit clients across the world. In return, you’ll have unparalleled access to partners and opportunities to develop your career in many different directions as you work across a truly diverse portfolio of global clients.
Our Trust Tax team offers a plethora of carefully tailored services to an equally varied range of clients – from UK and offshore Trusts, Charities and Estates, to entrepreneurs, entertainers and more. Part of the Private Client Services team, our expertise plays an integral part of a family's overall tax planning strategy. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to expand and strengthen your skillset and gain an invaluable insight into the wider Tax business within BDO.
You’ll be supported to develop your career and help others do the same, all while undertaking an exciting, varied workload for a broad range of clients. This role is as part of the team responsible for assisting Partners, Directors and other senior staff in servicing clients, directing Trust services and managing people within the Trust team. Trust tax knowledge is essential as is a wider knowledge of personal taxation.
The primary day to day responsibility will be to act as a point of contact within the firm for the client together with the other senior staff. You will deal with all matters relating to the management of a portfolio of existing clients including billings and cash collection within the firm’s criteria. Key to the role is for the individual to be able to pro-actively manage their own workload, provide overall support to Senior Managers and Directors on client matters and assist Directors in the management of the day-to-day delivery of all trust tax compliance and trust accounts work.
You’ll be someone with:
- Experience in providing trust and estate advice to high net worth individuals (experience of charity clients is a plus but not essential).
- Proven specialist technical private client experience, and the ability to deal with complex trust tax issues, gained within a practice environment.
- Experience of reviewing Trust accounts and associated tax accounting aspects (e.g. computing tax pools).
- Experience of dealing with HNW clients.
- Staff management experience.
- CTA and/or STEP qualified (or equivalent).
You’ll also be able to be yourself; we’ll recognise and value you for who you are and celebrate and reward your contributions to the business. We’re committed to agile working, and we offer everyone the opportunity to work in ways that suit them, their teams, and the task in hand.
