An accountancy and business advisory firm, providing the advice and solutions businesses need to navigate today's changing world. Our clients are Britain's economic engine – ambitious, entrepreneurially-spirited and high‐growth businesses that fuel the economy - and the owners and management teams that lead them.
BDO's Corporate Tax practice sits at the heart of our Tax function and plays an important role in the wider business. Our team works collaboratively with others across BDO, offering clients in the UK and overseas expert advice and solutions that help them overcome their challenges. Tax is a dynamic, ever-changing industry. As our clients' needs and the regulatory environment evolve, you'll encounter new problems to solve and new opportunities for growth.
You'll be providing Tax Advisory services to start-ups and scale-ups, to private businesses and FTSE listed multinationals. Our clients trust us because of the quality of our advice. That quality grows from a thorough understanding of their business, and that understanding comes from working closely with clients and building long-lasting relationships.
You'll be someone who can work pro-actively, managing your own tasks, but you'll also be confident collaborating with others, communicating regularly with senior managers, Directors, and BDO's Partners to enable us to serve our clients effectively. This role will provide Tax compliance and advisory services to a wide range of corporate and owner managed clients. The primary responsibility will be to deal with all matters relating to the management of a portfolio of clients.
You will also provide assistance to Director/Partners in both client work and in the management of the group and on occasions the practice. You will act as a key point of contact within the firm for the client, together with the Senior Manager/Partner. There will be an expectation that you will take full responsibility for project delivery on your portfolio.
- Manage a portfolio of clients including control of billings and cash collection within the firm's criteria.
- Ensure assignments are completed within agreed budgets and keep client/Partner informed of overruns and plan staff assignments in order to give an appropriate spread of experience.
- Ensure that the firm's quality control procedures are adhered to including second partner review.
- Identify risk and technical matters, as well as selling opportunities, to the Partner/Senior Manager/Manager, whilst exercising judgement within agreed parameters.
- Lead projects of limited scale or complexity.
