Role Overview
The purpose of this role is to manage the day‑to‑day operations of the Non‑Payroll Labour (NPL) function. The NPL function covers all types of contingent workforce, including Self‑Employed Individuals, Personal Service Companies, Contractor companies, Temps and Casual Workers. This role will lead a small team and collaborate closely with HR and operational contacts to ensure compliance, governance, and high‑standard delivery across the entire UK business.
Responsibilities
• Manage a small team and oversee all compliance and governance activity within the NPL space.
• Ensure consistent, high‑standard delivery of NPL activities across the UK business.
• Drive the development and implementation of NPL initiatives to support the firm’s business growth plans.
• Engage with HR colleagues and key operational contacts to maintain compliance and governance standards.
• Identify and highlight opportunities for enhancing delivery and creating additional services for clients.
Qualifications
- Solid knowledge of the Contingent Worker space, including IR35 legislation, is essential.
- Experience in a resourcing or governance environment/team is extremely beneficial.
- Experience working in an highly‑regulated organisation where work is audited on a regular basis is extremely beneficial.
- Proven ability to develop strong relationships with senior stakeholders to influence change and decision‑making.
- Strong communication skills, demonstrating gravitas and credibility, with excellent technical knowledge and commercial understanding.
- Able to work strategically yet also deliver at an operational level; willing to engage in a range of activities to meet the needs of the firm and internal client groups.
- Experience of working in a values‑based and client‑focused organisation.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to adapt style to different situations.
- Capability to interpret management information (MI) and make commercially based recommendations.
- Project management skills to lead change initiatives.
