We work with the companies that are Britain's economic engine - ambitious, entrepreneurially-spirited and high growth businesses that fuel the economy - and directly advise the owners and management teams that lead them.

To ensure our services and applications are fit for the modern market, our IT team collaborates with every department. They develop, explore and implement new ideas helping us to change the future of accounting, tax and business consulting. They maintain the tech that keeps us advancing by testing and adopting the future of financial technical solutions, finding new and exciting ways to drive us forward.

In this busy and rewarding role you'll also:

  • Focus on digital enablement across the firm, driving long-term adoption of M365 products, including Copilot, and other tools through practical support, strong stakeholder engagement and a user-focused approach.
  • Act as a trusted adviser to colleagues and an internal advocate for tech-enabled adoption strategies that deliver measurable business impact.
  • Work cross-functionally to shape scalable adoption and enablement approaches, tools and best practices.
  • Build and maintain stakeholder networks across leaders, subject matter experts and change champions to accelerate adoption.
  • Build strong internal networks and user communities to encourage peer learning and sustained adoption.
  • Define and track adoption measures such as engagement, usage and feedback to evidence outcomes and continuously improve your approach.
  • Lead workshops, coaching sessions and targeted enablement activities tailored to different teams and levels of seniority.
  • Create reusable templates and playbooks that scale and extend your impact beyond one-to-one support.

You’ll be someone with:

  • Proven experience in technology adoption, engagement or a similar role.
  • A working knowledge of change management principles, frameworks (such as Prosci, ADKAR etc.) and supporting tools.
  • Curiosity about AI technologies, workflows and emerging use cases, with the confidence to experiment independently and explore how AI can improve ways of working. Hands-on experience with AI tools such as Copilot or agent-based workflows is strongly preferred.
  • A pragmatic, people-centred mindset focused on delivering outcomes.
  • The ability to work confidently in ambiguous or evolving situations.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trust and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical teams.

You’ll be able to be yourself; we’ll recognise and value you for who you are and celebrate and reward your contributions to the business. We’re committed to agile working, and we offer every colleague the opportunity to work in ways that suit you, your teams, and the task at hand.

How to prepare for a job interview at BDO UK

Brush Up on Your Technical Skills

For an IT consulting role, be ready to demonstrate your technical prowess. You might face questions on systems integration, cloud technologies, or even troubleshooting specific software. If you have experience with tools like AWS, Azure, or even specific programming languages, make sure you can talk about them fluently.

Showcase Your Problem-Solving Approach

IT consulting is all about solving problems for clients. Think about how you can illustrate your approach to a past challenge using the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result). It's a great way to show how you tackle complex issues and come up with effective solutions.

Know the Business Impact of IT Solutions

When discussing your experiences, focus not just on the tech solutions you implemented, but also on their business impact. Employers want to see that you can connect IT with organisational goals. Prep examples that highlight how your tech contributions improved efficiency or reduced costs for past clients or projects.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

Since IT consulting often involves teamwork and client interactions, expect behavioural questions that assess your interpersonal skills. Be prepared with examples that demonstrate your adaptability, communication skills, and how you handle client feedback. Before the interview, think of situations where you worked closely with clients to create effective IT strategies or changes.
