The Business Services and Outsourcing team delivers long-term, sustainable value to businesses by providing accounting, payroll and compliance services, and helps tie together many of our services across BDO both domestically and internationally. You’ll build deep and meaningful relationships with clients from ambitious entrepreneurial SMEs to large multi‑national groups, opening doors for other teams to provide our wider service offering.

BDO’s Bristol Service Charge team is a centre of excellence for independent reviews of service charges. We are expecting large growth to add to our client base. We require a Manager to deliver high-quality independent reviews of annual service charge expenditure for a specific client. The manager will oversee a dedicated team, supervise the process to ensure work is efficient, completed within KPIs, and tailored to the client’s needs. The manager will be a point of escalation internally and for the client and will report to the Director and Partner team, providing and implementing solutions as required. The manager will be actively involved in business development and should actively seek opportunities to grow the business.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the delivery of independent reviews of service charge expenditure for a designated client.
  • Supervise a dedicated team to ensure efficient work, KPI adherence, and client-focused delivery.
  • Act as the main escalation point for internal and client-related matters; resolve difficult situations.
  • Collaborate with the Director and Partner team; propose solutions and improvements as needed.
  • Engage in business development and seek opportunities to grow the service line.

Qualifications

  • ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification with experience in an accountancy practice or other financial environment.
  • Alternatively, significant Service Charge Accounting experience.
  • Experience managing junior staff.
  • Ability to think on your feet.
  • Excellent communication skills.
