In this role you will lead the local Business Support team and office/facilities management across two offices (Manchester and Leeds), creating efficient processes and resource planning to achieve operational excellence. You will work closely with Regional Lead Partners on local and firm‑wide initiatives and enable exceptional service delivery to internal and external clients.

Responsibilities

  • People manage the local Business Support team.
  • Collaborate with the local HR Manager to ensure effective delivery of key HR processes.
  • Lead local and national initiatives, driving communications and recognition across the office.
  • Collaborate with Partners to understand support needs and add value.
  • Provide exceptional client experience and support client initiatives, being responsive and creating a positive impression at all touch points.
  • Develop collaborative culture and embed the National Business Support Career Development Framework.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the Business Support Team, ensuring engagement, focus and delivery.
  • Develop, implement and review operational support strategies and key processes to meet business demands and office needs, enabling process review and measurement.
  • Align staff resources to business needs, ensuring cross‑training for leave/sickness coverage.
  • Support national initiatives related to fee‑earning staff support.
  • Review key processes, identify gaps and implement improvements.
  • Assist with local budget, forecast and expenditure.
  • Liaise with local landlords and tenants, facilities support, safety and compliance, design and change support.
  • Manage one‑off projects as identified or requested.
  • Initiate and sustain process improvement activities.
  • Ensure regulatory and compliance activities (facilities, health and safety) are covered, enlisting functional expertise as required.
  • Oversee distribution of departmental/stream documentation.
  • Liaise with various third‑party suppliers.

Qualifications

  • Exceptional leadership and people‑management skills.

  • Proven change‑management skills.
  • Solid experience and proven competence as Operations Manager or equivalent.
  • Cost‑negotiation skills and commercial awareness.
  • Capability to manage complex projects to deadline without impacting day‑to‑day service quality.
  • Ability to develop and lead teams, challenge and coach individuals.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Diplomatic and discrete with handling sensitive matters.
