The purpose of this role is to manage the day‑to‑day operations of the Non‑Payroll Labour (NPL) function – the NPL function includes all types of contingent workforce (such as Self‑Employed Individuals, Personal Service Companies, Contractor companies, Temps etc) as well as another area that is connected but not officially classed as NPL (Casual Workers). Managing a small team will require working collaboratively to ensure that all compliance and governance activity within the NPL space, across the entire UK business, is delivered to a consistently high standard by engaging with HR colleagues and key operational contacts. In addition, the role drives the development and further implementation of the NPL activity in support of the firm’s business growth plans.

Responsibilities:

  • You’ll be comfortable working proactively and managing your own tasks, while confidently collaborating with others and communicating regularly with senior managers, directors, and BDO’s partners to help businesses effectively.
  • You’ll be encouraged to identify and draw attention to opportunities for enhancing our delivery and providing additional services to organisations we work with.

Qualifications:

  • Solid knowledge of the Contingent Worker space (including IR35 legislation) is essential.
  • Experience of working in a resourcing or governance environment/team would be extremely beneficial.
  • Experience working in a highly‑regulated organisation where work is audited on a regular basis would be extremely beneficial.
  • Proven experience of developing strong relationships with senior stakeholders to implement and influence change and decision making.
  • Strong communication skills, demonstrating gravitas and credibility, with excellent technical knowledge and commercial understanding.
  • Able to work strategically yet also deliver at an operational level; willing to get involved in a range of activities in order to fully meet the needs of the firm and internal client groups.
  • Experience of working in a values based and client‑focused organisation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to adapt their style to different situations.
  • The ability to interpret MI and make commercially based recommendations.
  • Project management skills in order to land change initiatives.
