We’re BDO, an accountancy and business advisory firm providing the advice and solutions entrepreneurial organisations need to navigate today’s changing world. We work with ambitious, entrepreneurially-spirited and high growth businesses that fuel the economy, directly advising the owners and management teams that lead them.

Our Sales & Marketing team is building a function that reflects who we are: open, trusted and focused on shaping what matters. You’ll join a team big enough to offer significant priorities and commercial challenges, yet personal enough to ensure you’re supported and empowered from day one.

Here, we think beyond. You’ll bring ideas, challenge thinking and help shape how we deliver campaigns, insights and engagement across the business. Working closely with internal clients, you’ll deepen your understanding of our sectors and see how connected teams drive our 2028 growth ambitions.

From strategic storytelling to capability-building and smarter ways of working, you’ll grow your skills while working with people who care about doing the right thing.

In this team, development is central to how we work. You’ll have access to best-in-class training, clear capability frameworks and hands-on learning that give you the confidence and skills to grow quickly. We make it personal with supportive teams where you belong, are trusted, and take transformative work on early. You’ll collaborate across service lines and leadership levels, building relationships grounded in openness and accountability.

You’ll bring your best - taking ownership, delivering quality and building trust across the firm. In return, you’ll get clarity, fair feedback and the development you need to succeed. You won’t just complete tasks - you’ll help shape how the team evolves and how we support the business.

Role purpose

The Senior New Business Manager is deployed into our Private Equity Segment, working in the Financial Sponsor Coverage team, responsible for developing, institutionalising, leading and managing long term commercial relationships with financial sponsors including private equity. The team creates competitive advantage and drives sustainable, responsible and profitable revenue growth for the firm by acting as a gateway to the wider organisation by identifying and creating qualified fee opportunities for partners and our service lines through relationship development with individuals at financial sponsors and their portfolio companies.

The role involves close collaboration with the Head of Financial Sponsor Coverage, sector leaders, Lead Relationship Partners and service line partners to ensure a coordinated, client centric and unified firmwide approach. The role is accountable for managing relationships with established sponsor clients while also expanding BDO’s coverage of new financial sponsors and market participants.

In addition, the role supports capability uplift by coaching junior New Business colleagues and helping build confidence of junior fee earners through structured "take to market" activity, reinforcing consistent habits and continuous improvement. The role uses available tools and automation to improve consistency, efficiency and traceability, and helps increase awareness of those tools within the deployed area.

Key responsibilities

  • Execute targeting and outreach activity against agreed priority lists, ensuring quality and consistency.
  • Tailor outreach and conversation approaches using buyer needs, issue-led context and propositions.
  • Generate and convert conversations into qualified meetings and early-stage relationships.
  • Apply qualification standards consistently, capturing what matters to support effective follow-up and handoff.
  • Focus activity on the highest-value targets and elevate constraints where required.
  • Partner with Markets Activation and Marketing colleagues to ensure propositions and enablement support local new business activity.
  • Work with GTM Business Partners to ensure activity aligns to priorities and is visible in planning and reporting.
  • Capture market insight from conversations (buyer issues, objections, proof point gaps, competitor signals).
  • Feed learning into proposition refinement and future targeting choices through agreed routes (GTM, Content, Markets Activation).
  • Contribute improvements to scripts, templates and playbooks; share what is working with the team.
  • Use available tools and automation to manage outreach, follow-up and traceability with discipline, improving consistency and reducing manual rework.
  • Support local enablement by showing fee earners what tools are available and how to use them in practice (quick demos, templates and "how to" guidance).
  • Coach New Business Managers/juniors on outreach excellence, qualification discipline, handoff quality and CRM discipline.

You will be someone with:

  • Strong experience in new business development, lead generation or outbound sales in a complex B2B environment (professional services beneficial).
  • Confident engaging stakeholders and generating meetings through credible, issue-led outreach.
  • Strong qualification discipline and ability to balance volume with quality.
  • Strong collaboration across Sales, Marketing and GTM, and comfort operating within a shared sales methodology.
  • Strong performance mindset and CRM discipline, including attribution awareness.
  • Coaching experience or strong capability to develop others.
