At BDO, the Procurement function forms part of the wider Finance Department.

The mission of Procurement is to support the business in the procurement of goods and services through a streamlined process that delivers best value to BDO from the goods and services procured.

Procurement work to establish, maintain, monitor and evaluate vendor relationships to reduce risks, increase vendor performance, drive greater levels of innovation and help to deliver competitive advantages to BDO.

The Procurement Business Support will play an important role in driving the strategic direction aligned with the Head of Procurement's strategy, mission and vision.

This role will help deliver training, engagement and communications to the business stakeholders including the 4 streams (Audit, Tax, Deals, Consulting & Risk), PMD areas such as IT, HR, Finance, Property & Facilities Management, Marketing and Quality & Risk.

You will be someone with;

ESSENTIAL SKILLS REQUIRED

  • A basic understanding of procurement or commercial work.
  • Able to understand new technology and requirements quickly.
  • Can build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, acting as a trusted source of support.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel with a desire to grow this to at least intermediate and build on their data analysis skills.
  • Strong communication skills through multiple channels. E. g. written and verbal.
  • Ability to understand existing processes and learn to map these via tools such as Microsoft Visio.
  • Ability to understand and communicate policies and processes to a variety of stakeholders.
  • Confidence to present/communicate Procurement's vision and goals, acting as a source of knowledge and guidance.
  • Able to work cross-functionally, understanding wider processes not only those within Procurement.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Problem solving skills – identify and offer solutions to problems.
  • A critical thinker who shows confidence and willingness in taking on a challenge
  • Uses initiative when it comes to tackling tasks or problems. Able to multitask & react to fast turnarounds
  • DESIRED SKILLS
  • Knowledge of Procure 2 Pay, e. g. requisitions and purchase orders, etc.
  • Prior knowledge of ERP Systems (
  • Demonstrated ability to drive improvements and take charge of initiatives
  • Can identify value creation opportunities and help build business cases.
