This is an opportunity for a talented, high‑performing and ambitious Manager to join the Corporate Reporting Team in the Audit Quality Department (AQD). The role involves shaping the team, working closely with directors and senior managers, and contributing to accurate and transparent financial reporting for stakeholders. The role is particularly suited to an individual with experience in the technical department of a major accountancy firm, or an auditor with strong technical aptitude who wishes to move into a technical position.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with Managers, Directors and Partners within AQD, the Audit Stream and across the wider firm.
- Maintain and encourage an open and constructive environment for technical accounting support and advice.
- Bring pre‑existing technical knowledge and experience to the CRT team and contribute to all output areas.
- Provide support and supervision to junior team members.
- Technical review of a portfolio of annual reports of publicly traded and other higher‑risk companies, working with the audit team to confirm compliance with financial reporting standards, company legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Work with Directors and Senior Managers to provide clear and practical solutions to technical financial reporting queries.
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of internal financial reporting training, updates and seminars.
- Write articles and other materials on financial reporting matters for internal communications.
- Monitor external developments in specific corporate reporting areas, report back to the team and work with Senior Managers to develop action plans where required.
- Contribute to AQD‑wide projects and initiatives.
Qualifications
- ACA/ICAS qualified or overseas equivalent, preferably with at least 2 years PQE.
- Previously a Manager or Assistant Manager in a technical team or have other relevant experience in technical financial reporting within audit.
- Practical experience of performing reviews of annual reports, with experience of listed company annual reports desirable.
- Working knowledge and awareness of: IFRSs, UK GAAP and the Companies Act.
- The wider financial reporting environment.
- Demonstrated ability to apply technical knowledge to complex financial reporting issues.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with an ability to build productive relationships.
- Willingness to work as part of a close‑knit team and as a self‑directed individual.
- Highly motivated and proactive, with a desire to innovate and seek new ways of improving service to internal customers.
- Genuine desire to continue developing a corporate reporting skillset and knowledge.
