We’re BDO. An accountancy and business advisory firm, providing the advice and solutions entrepreneurial organisations need to navigate today’s changing world. We work with the companies that are Britain’s economic engine – ambitious, entrepreneurially-spirited and high‐growth businesses that fuel the economy - and directly advise the owners and management teams that lead them.

You will be joining one of the largest partnership tax teams in London. We serve a wide variety of clients within the sector, including professional partnerships such as law firms, consultants, recruiters, architects and property services firms, as well as financial services businesses and private equity firms. We also look after their Partners and Senior Executives. This role provides an exceptional opportunity for you to develop your technical, commercial and client relationship skills in a supportive and collaborative environment, working with colleagues who are recognised as experts in the sector.

Our client base will provide you with a fantastic opportunity to work on a challenging and varied portfolio, delivering tax advisory, reporting, and compliance services both in the UK and internationally. You will have the chance to deal with matters relating to the management of clients operating within the professional services and investment fund management sectors, particularly partnerships/LLPs and their partners, as well as some corporate businesses.

We are looking for someone who is willing to get involved, and who is keen to learn and develop – the team will support you in gaining new market knowledge, new skills, and new technical expertise to help build your career.

Leading organisations trust us because of the quality of our advice. That quality grows from a thorough understanding of their business, and that understanding comes from working closely with them and building long-lasting relationships. You’ll be someone who is both comfortable working proactively and managing your own tasks, as well as confident collaborating with others and communicating regularly with senior managers, directors, and BDO’s partners to help businesses effectively. You’ll be encouraged to identify and draw attention to opportunities for enhancing our delivery and providing additional services to organisations we work with.

In this role you’ll:

  • Have the opportunity to develop client relationships, supported by the team and working with more junior colleagues.
  • Work in a team leading the market in partnerships - your portfolio will include an exciting range of clients across the partnerships space.
  • Have the opportunity to work across clients in the professional partnerships and private equity space, or to focus on your preferred market area – you will have great flexibility to shape your career.
  • Run client relationships - acting as a key point of contact for clients, ensuring the team respond promptly to, as well as anticipate, client requests/needs, and maintaining regular contact with clients.
  • Work with a portfolio of clients, taking responsibility for delivery of tax compliance and advisory services as well as billing and risk management supported by the team.
  • Deal with interesting and varied tax issues, with support from partners and directors.
  • Build your internal networks to support your career development.
  • Be responsible for coaching and developing more junior members of staff.

When you join us, we’ll make your growth our priority. If you can demonstrate the following skills, we can help you go far.

You’ll be someone with:

  • Willingness to learn and develop, with an interest in the private equity and/or professional partnerships sector.
  • Qualified ACA/CTA (or equivalent).
  • Relevant experience in a mixed tax, corporate and/or partnership tax compliance and advisory role, ideally including some experience of dealing with professional partnerships and/or private equity funds and management structures.
  • Ability to work with a client portfolio.
  • Self-motivated with excellent communication.

You’ll be able to be yourself; we’ll recognise and value you for who you are and celebrate and reward your contributions to the business. We’re committed to agile working, and we offer every colleague the opportunity to work in ways that suit you, your teams, and the task at hand.

At BDO, we’ll help you achieve your personal goals and career ambitions, and we have programmes, resources, and frameworks that provide clarity and structure around career development.

Mutual support and respect is one of BDO’s core values and we’re proud of our distinctive, people-centred culture. From informal success conversations to formal mentoring and coaching, we’ll support you at every stage in your career, whatever your personal and professional needs.

Our agile working framework helps us stay connected, bringing teams together where and when it counts so they can share ideas and help one another. At BDO, you’ll always have access to the people and resources you need to do your best work.

We know that collaboration is the key to creating value for the companies we work with and satisfying experiences for our colleagues, so we’ve invested in state-of-the-art collaboration spaces in our offices. BDO’s people represent a wealth of knowledge and expertise, and we’ll encourage you to build your network, work alongside others, and share your skills and experiences. With a range of multidisciplinary events and dedicated resources, you’ll never stop learning at BDO.
