Job Title: Tax Accountant Assistant

Location: Hailsham

Salary Range: £25,000 – £30,000

About the Company: Our client is a dynamic and thriving Independent Financial Adviser (IFA) Practice with a strong commitment to providing top-tier financial services. We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our finance department as a Tax Accountant Assistant.

Role Overview: As a Tax Accountant Assistant, you will work alongside the existing accounts team, playing a crucial role in our client\’s finance department, focusing on the preparation of financial documents such as Self-Assessment tax returns for individuals and companies, Management Accounts, and other related procedures. You will receive comprehensive training and study support, with the ultimate goal of becoming a Chartered Tax Adviser.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Preparation of monthly management accounts
  2. Compilation of statutory accounts
  3. Completion of Self-Assessment tax returns
  4. Submission of Limited Company Tax Returns
  5. Reconciliation of commission statements
  6. Invoicing and Credit Control activities
  7. Administration of long lease properties (preparing accounts, issuing maintenance and ground rent invoices)
  8. Analysis and reconciliation of expenses and receipts
  9. Generation of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the company and advisers
  10. Production of documents/KPIs for regulatory returns
  11. Provision of treasurer services to local charities

Qualifications and Skills:

  1. Qualified or part-qualified accountant
  2. Part ACCA/ACA
  3. Experience in dealing with Personal Tax
  4. Highly organized with efficient time management and the ability to prioritize workloads.
  5. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  6. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  7. Computer literate, with advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook
  8. Strong attention to detail
  9. Previous experience with Xero is preferred but not essential.
