About the Company: Our client is a dynamic and thriving Independent Financial Adviser (IFA) Practice with a strong commitment to providing top-tier financial services. We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our finance department as a Tax Accountant Assistant.
Role Overview: As a Tax Accountant Assistant, you will work alongside the existing accounts team, playing a crucial role in our client's finance department, focusing on the preparation of financial documents such as Self-Assessment tax returns for individuals and companies, Management Accounts, and other related procedures. You will receive comprehensive training and study support, with the ultimate goal of becoming a Chartered Tax Adviser.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation of monthly management accounts
- Compilation of statutory accounts
- Completion of Self-Assessment tax returns
- Submission of Limited Company Tax Returns
- Reconciliation of commission statements
- Invoicing and Credit Control activities
- Administration of long lease properties (preparing accounts, issuing maintenance and ground rent invoices)
- Analysis and reconciliation of expenses and receipts
- Generation of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the company and advisers
- Production of documents/KPIs for regulatory returns
- Provision of treasurer services to local charities
Qualifications and Skills:
- Qualified or part-qualified accountant
- Part ACCA/ACA
- Experience in dealing with Personal Tax
- Highly organized with efficient time management and the ability to prioritize workloads.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Computer literate, with advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Strong attention to detail
- Previous experience with Xero is preferred but not essential.
