Business Development Executive – Covering the South of England

SCOPE & PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

BDElite are looking for a driven and relationship-focused Account Executive to join our Sales Team. As a key player in our commercial strategy, you’ll manage broker and other account relationships across the South of the UK— managing existing accounts, identifying growth opportunities, and securing new business in line with our strategic goals.

This is a dual-role position covering account management and new business development . You\’ll work closely with our wider Sales Team, Leadership Team, Marketing, and Internal Sales Support Team to deliver a seamless experience to our clients while championing our Legal Expense Insurance (LEI) products, a full range of add-ons , and Full Claims Management solutions.

You’ll be the face of BDElite in your region building relationships with existing brokers and utilising our market leading products to generate new business.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Account Management & Client Development

  • Look after a portfolio of brokers and intermediaries, nurturing long-term relationships and ensuring client satisfaction through regular engagement and service reviews.
  • Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities across full products range and associated services.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews with brokers and other accounts, sharing MI and insights to drive joint growth.
  • Act as a strategic partner to clients by understanding their business models, challenges, and objectives.
  • Serve as the escalation point for broker-related issues, liaising with internal teams to ensure swift resolution.

New Business Development

  • Proactively seek out new business opportunities, identifying and onboarding new broker and other partner accounts, aligned with our distribution strategy.
  • Build and manage a pipeline of opportunities, driving growth through strategic marketing, referrals, and industry events.
  • Work alongside Marketing to deliver localised campaigns, product launches, and promotions.
  • Achieve individual sales targets, contributing to overall business revenue and profit goals.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory developments in LEI, Claims Management, and the Addon products related markets (e.g., including Credit Hire, Credit Repair, Repair Management, Legal Services etc
  • Attend numerous exhibitions/conferences throughout the UK
  • Willingness to stay overnight in different locations in order to fulfil appointments/diary commitments
  • Achieve sales targets, through maximising identified opportunities.
  • Secure new business at terms required to achieve or exceed company’s target contribution figure

Collaboration and Internal Engagement

  • Work with our internal Sales Support Team to ensure seamless onboarding and ongoing service delivery.
  • Provide feedback and intelligence to Product, Operations, Systems and Marketing teams to help shape our offer.
  • Attend internal meetings at head office as needed to support wider sales strategy alignment, staying overnight as and when needed.
  • Contribute to and take on ad-hoc projects.
  • Take responsibility for company car and business equipment, maintaining them with a duty of care.

Representation & Brand Advocacy

  • Represent BDElite at regional and national broker and industry events, including fleet and Insurtech, attending conferences, and exhibitions.
  • Position BDElite as a thought leader in the market by sharing insights and thought leadership in account development discussions.

Training

  • Attend training and to develop relevant knowledge, techniques and skills
  • Willingness to progress towards further relevant professional qualifications
  • Undertake any other duties reasonably required as deemed appropriate

Compliance & Health and Safety

  • Continuing awareness and compliance with FCA including Claims Management, Health and Safety, other regulatory and carrier requirements
  • Proven success in a hybrid account management/new business role, ideally in the broker, or wider insurance industry.
  • Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Self-motivated, commercially focused, and driven by results and client success.
  • Excellent presentation and negotiation skills, with strong written and verbal communication.
  • Experience in managing a field-based role with effective time and territory management.
  • Confident at negotiating with an ability to influence outcomes
  • Ability to work under pressure and to targets and objectives
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Knowledge of Legal Expense Insurance, add-on products, and claims management.
  • Knowledge of the broker/intermediary networks, industry and FCA-regulated environments.
  • Relationships with Brokers and Insurance Intermediaries, advantageous

Other Requirements

  • Full UK Driving Licence (essential)
  • Willingness to travel extensively and stay overnight when needed
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Committed to CPD and professional development
