The team
The Private Real Estate Group provides high quality advice and service to private clients, trusts and family offices in connection with their real estate affairs. It works closely where appropriate with other specialists in the Firm, including in particular Private Client and Commercial Real Estate lawyers to achieve that aim. The Group currently comprises 5 partners, 24 fee earners and 6 support staff across the Firm’s 4 offices.
The opportunity
An opportunity has arisen for a Legal Secretary to join our Private Real Estate team in London, with a particular focus on supporting partners and fee earners dealing with rural and agricultural property. The successful candidate will work with Partners, fee earners, and staff across the Firm to deliver seamless service of the highest quality to clients.
Day to day tasks include:
- General administrative tasks such as paper filing, electronic filing (profiling), scanning and archiving
- Document creation and processing, including day dictation and amending documents
- File management (file opening, closing, matter balance clearance, scheduling)
- Answering phones and taking messages wherever appropriate, including responding to client enquiries
- Scanning and profiling post
- Maintaining client databases, including entering new client and contact information
- Preparation and submission of land registry forms and applications and carrying out priority searches
- Undertaking conveyancing searches in accordance with our standard systems
- Providing support to the wider team as appropriate
