As the Operational Team Leader, you will coordinate Material Handler activities to meet production targets while upholding high standards of quality, safety, efficiency, morale, and cost control. You will ensure all products are sterilised according to procedures, shipments are accurately documented, and a safe working environment is consistently maintained. The role supports Raw Materials warehouses by deploying manpower where needed and oversees all operations within the Warehouse and Steriliser areas, including maintaining quality and waste standards, ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements such as Health, Safety, Environmental, COSHH, GMP, ISO 9002 and 14001, and upholding the core values of the site and company.
This is a Night shift onsite role (11pm - 11am, 3 days on and 3 days off) offers a competitive salary plus a 37% shift premium.
Main Responsibilities Will Include:- Oversee daily team performance, set targets, and ensure operational goals are consistently met.
- Coordinate closely with Technical, Engineering, QC, HR, and Production teams to maintain safe, efficient sterilisation and product flow.
- Supervise Material Handlers, support warehouse/steriliser activities, and ensure effective deployment of staff across shifts.
- Ensure all associates receive required training, maintain compliance with regulatory and company standards, and uphold GMP, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Provide onboarding and skills development for new Material Handlers, monitor progress, and support positive team culture.
- Maintain product quality by ensuring correct sterilisation/shipping processes and initiating corrective actions when needed.
- Promote continuous improvement in waste reduction, productivity, quality, and safety, fostering strong communication and teamwork.
- Manage shift handovers, maintain clear communication on operational status, and support administrative tasks such as attendance, holidays, and reporting.
- Ensure proper use, safekeeping, and issue resolution for PPE and radiological monitoring equipment.
- Use SAP and related systems to complete job functions, investigate data issues, and maintain accurate stock control.
- Demonstrated experience as a Material Handler with strong knowledge of warehouse and steriliser processes.
- Willingness to obtain and maintain mechanical handling equipment licences and complete ongoing developmental and radiation‑related training.
- Good understanding of radiological protection principles and adherence to local safety rules.
- Ability to meet essential physical requirements, including high standards of sight, hearing, and overall fitness.
- Commitment to annual company‑provided health screenings in line with HSE regulations.
