As a BD Bioscience Field Service Engineer, you will be part of a regional team of collaborative engineers, reporting directly to the area Technical Manager. You are expected to work to the highest standards to ensure firstāclass service is delivered to our customers while meeting quality and regulatory standards in this heavily regulated industry.
As a Field Service Engineer you will gain expertise and become the SME for our Flow Cytometry instruments, including the Clinical Cell Analyzer BD FACSCantoTM II and Research Cell Analyzers.
Main Responsibilities Will Include:
- Provide fieldābased and remote technical support to customers and colleagues in line with relevant training and experience.
- Carry out preventative maintenance, installation, relocation, repairs and corrective field change orders on Flow Cytometry instrumentation.
- Diagnose electrical, fluidic, mechanical, hardware, software and laser failures using established procedures and techniques.
- Determine the most costāeffective repair/solution to ensure minimum downtime.
- Perform instrument certifications (IQ/OQ).
- Actively manage a spareāparts stock, ensuring all necessary spare parts and tools are available.
- Effectively manage technical escalations.
- Work toward service metrics as defined by the Service Organization.
About You:
- HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering or extensive relevant experience as a Field Service Engineer.
- A proactive approach with the ability to take the lead if the situation requires it.
- IT knowledge.
- Flow Cytometry experience is a plus.
- Experience working in the Telecoms, Robotics, Automation and Medical Devices industries.
- The ability to process knowledge across multiāmodular and diverse product ranges.
- Deliver high levels of customer service.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Currently living within a daily commutable distance of Central London.
Physical Demands:
This is a fullātime position, with evening work required as job duties demand. The job entails traveling to and from a customer site each day. An individual should be able to lift 12ā15 kg and work in a standing position for a prolonged period.
Salary range for the role: Ā£45,000 ā Ā£55,000 + bonus + benefits.
