Job Description
We are looking for our new Country General Manager for the UK&I , and this could be you!
Overview Of The Role
The Country GM UK & Ireland provides leadership to the UK&I organization and develops BD’s business for balanced and profitable revenue growth.
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficiency and alignment of the Go-To-Market organization to the healthcare systems, markets, sales channels and customers across BD businesses, combined with crafting shared value through engagement and alignment around key health and social needs that BD can help to advance, setting-up external collaborations and partnerships as needed.
Reporting to the President for EMEA and as a member of the EMEA Leadership Team, you will represent the critical linkage point between BD\’s global capabilities and the needs of the UK&I region.
Key Responsibilities
- Has sound knowledge of the UK&I healthcare environment, understands mid-term and long terms trends influencing our markets.
- Builds an extensive network of external partners. Has access to national healthcare authorities who supervise industry and decide on reimbursement.
- Represents the company in industry associations and has a sensor function in the healthcare market to find opportunities
- Builds external coalitions for pursuing pivotal initiatives, effectively aligning internal functions and relevant businesses for support and expertise.
- Leads business activities for achievement of short- and long-term business objectives, driving sustainable growth and profitability.
In Cooperation With Global Or Regional Businesses
- Develops appropriate Go-To-Market strategies to ensure an effective market and channel resource deployment and coverage aligning with the current and future needs of the target customers.
- Responsible for high level negotiations in the region, maintains working relationship with key business partners to drive revenue growth.
- Ensures that BD\’s relationships and agreements with distributors, agents and other supply chain partners reflect the best industry practice, and are fully in compliance with national, US and European laws and regulations.
- Proactively leads and supports standardization and effectiveness of business processes in collaboration with regional functional leaders.
- Is accountable for the P&L (Revenue, Standard GP, SSG&A) and for achieving financial objectives (Cash Flow management).
- Partners with regional/worldwide businesses to build a 3–5 year country strategy. Works across business units to create an integrated country plan, overcoming internal barriers.
- Maintains and regularly updates the strategy, tracks and communicates progress.
Talent Development
- Leads the countries talent agenda by building the capabilities to deliver on the 3-5 year strategy in line with the company direction.
- Identifies, coaches and develops future leaders and champions, creating development opportunities and building high-performing teams.
Governance and Communication
- Ensures that BD meets or exceeds all standards of legal and ethical compliance, exhibiting impeccable personal integrity and understanding that our global reputation depends on the appropriate behavior and actions of every BD associate, everywhere in the world.
- Proactively drives and supports process alignment and efficiency for functions in the country within the scope of the global functional strategies.
About You
University bachelor’s degree in business administration. MBA or equivalent experience preferred.
Experiences
- Extensive experience in Senior Leadership positions in Sales and Marketing, ideally with proven experience in the Medical Devices and capital equipment markets.
- Mastery of marketing, selling and new business development skills.
Knowledge and Skills
- Previous working experience with general management and P&L responsibility, either in country or regional business leadership role.
- Strong track record of business / commercial success in a health care environment.
- Experience in organizational change and change management.
- Solid knowledge of the British healthcare system, environment and its key collaborators.
- Experience and/or capability to collaborate effectively with external leaders and key influencers.
- Experience in leading cross-sector initiatives.
- Demonstrated skills in attracting talent, leading and motivating organizations.
