We have a fantastic field-based opportunity for a Sales Specialist to join our Peripheral Vascular Disease (PVD) sales team, taking responsibility for the Midlands Territory. BD is a leading global medical technology company. Advancing the world of health is our purpose. We are looking for sales professionals who want to win and grow the BD market share to advance the world of health.

In this commercial sales role, you will be an active member of the PVD team and responsible for delivering quarterly and annual territory targets for promoted products within the PVD portfolio. You will understand customer needs and position BD’s solutions in a profitable manner. You will engage with Interventional Radiologists, Vascular surgeons and Nursing teams to demonstrate value and will regularly support the appropriate use of products in a complex, clinical setting. You will be based in the Midlands territory and travel within your territory as required.

You Will Have

  • You will be educated to degree level or equivalent, with extensive sales experience and a demonstrable record of success in NHS Healthcare sales.
  • Ideally you will be clinically trained and can demonstrate a strategic approach coordinating multiple departments and customer types within the NHS setting.
  • You will be highly motivated with strong organisational skills, and able to work both independently and as part of a diverse and dynamic team.
  • You must be prepared to travel within your territory for up to 80% of your time in this field-based role.

  • An enthusiasm and successful track record in medical sales including implementation of new product lines and driving the sales process per plan.
  • Strong negotiation skills with procurement and budget holders.
  • Experience navigating a complex selling environment.
  • Strong product demonstration experience in a complex sales environment with multiple decision makers.
  • Ability to analyse complex customer data and develop and communicate clinically and technically sound sales solutions.
  • Ability to interface with internal team members and external customers as part of a solutions-based sales approach.
  • Thorough attention to detail.
  • Proven customer acumen and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, teaching and presenting skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and the ability to convey complex issues in simple messages.

Salary and Benefits

Salary range for the role: £42,000 to £55,000 plus bonus and benefits.

BD emphasizes on-site collaboration to foster creativity, innovation and effective problem-solving. For most roles, a minimum of 4 days of in-office presence per week is preferred to maintain our culture of excellence, with flexibility and work-life balance considered. Remote or field-based positions will have different workplace arrangements indicated in the job posting.
