Goodman Masson are delighted to be partnering with Barking & Dagenham Reside to appoint a Building Safety Team Lead — a critical hire at a time of increasing regulatory focus and organisational growth.
This is a senior leadership role sitting at the heart of building safety, offering the opportunity to shape strategy, drive compliance, and embed a proactive safety culture across a high-risk residential portfolio.
Reporting to the Head of Resident & Building Safety, you will lead both the strategic direction and operational delivery of building safety across Reside’s higher-risk buildings. With responsibility for a growing team, you’ll oversee safety cases, risk management, regulatory compliance, and the “golden thread” of building information — ensuring data is accurate, accessible, and regulator-ready. You’ll act as the key escalation point for complex safety matters, working closely with senior stakeholders, the Building Safety Regulator, and operational teams to ensure residents remain safe and informed.
- Lead and embed building safety strategy, policies, and procedures across the organisation
- Oversee the production and quality assurance of Safety Case Reports
- Ensure compliance with the Building Safety Act, Fire Safety regulations, and wider statutory requirements
- Drive data governance and continuous improvement of building safety systems
- Provide leadership, direction, and development to a team of Building Safety professionals
- Champion resident engagement and transparency in building safety matters
We’re looking for a building safety professional with strong leadership capability and a strategic mindset:
- Significant experience managing building safety across high-risk residential buildings
- In-depth knowledge of the Building Safety Act, Fire Safety Order, and regulatory landscape
- Proven experience leading technical teams in a safety-critical environment
- Experience developing policies, processes, and organisational frameworks
- Strong understanding of fire safety systems, construction, and risk management
- A relevant Level 6 qualification (or equivalent) in Building Safety / Fire / Construction
Reside is a forward-thinking, resident-focused organisation committed to delivering safe, high-quality homes and services. This role offers genuine scope to influence, lead, and make a lasting impact.
30 days annual leave + bank holidays ~ Generous pension (up to 10% employer contribution) ~ Private healthcare + cash plan ~ Flexible and hybrid working ~ Annual leave buy/sell scheme ~ Employee wellbeing support (EAP)
If you’re ready to step into a role where you can lead from the front, shape strategy, and make a tangible difference to resident safety, we’d be keen to speak.
