As the Commercial Manager, you will be the driving force behind commercial strategy execution across the MDS UKI Business Unit. You will lead national pricing strategy, strengthen our market presence, and maximize commercial value across all routes to market. Working closely with Sales, Marketing, B2B, and Distribution teams, you will act as the key commercial voice of BD MDS UK for National Procurement Bodies, the Private Health Sector, and strategic 3PL partners.

Main Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Lead the development and implementation of the MDS UK National Pricing Strategy.
  • Ensure pricing structures support profitable market share growth through optimal price, volume, and product mix.
  • Create frameworks for product and account margin optimisation, delivering these across the sales organization to drive commercial excellence.
  • Collaborate with the BDX Pricing Group to contribute to cross-business-unit pricing initiatives.
  • Own the commercial relationship with National Procurement Bodies, including NHSSC Category Towers.
  • Align customer needs with relevant commercial offerings, framework contracts, and negotiation strategies.
  • Influence the future procurement landscape to support BD’s commercial vision and create value-driven partnerships.
  • Oversee and ensure consistency in pricing methodologies across distributors and wholesalers.
  • Lead quarterly pricing reviews and contract management processes to support growth and minimize administrative delays.
  • Partner with Commercial, Distribution, and Marketing teams to ensure effective supply and demand management.
  • Provide clear internal forecasting and external customer updates to minimize patient impact.
  • Manage product back-order allocation based on National Strategy priorities.
  • Coordinate communication for Field Safety Notices with core customer groups.

  • Proven success in managing relationships with key stakeholders.

  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in successfully implementing price strategy with major customer groups.
  • Experience in successfully developing and implementing channel strategy.
  • Logistics and supply chain knowledge.

Salary range for the role: £57,400 – £64,000 + benefits.
