Job Description Summary

This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in transforming medication management through automation. As the Connected Medication Management Specialist, you will be the dedicated on-site expert supporting the rollout of BD’s ward automation solutions. You will guide clinical teams through change, deliver impactful training, and ensure systems are optimised for safety, efficiency, and long‑term success. Your work will directly contribute to improved patient care and operational excellence across the Trust.

Location: Derriford Hospital, Plymouth (with occasional travel across the Trust/ICS)

Contract Type: Full‑time

Working Pattern: 3–4 days on‑site, 1–2 days remote

Maine Responsibilities Will Include

  • Lead the on-site implementation of BD’s ward automation, acting as the primary contact for clinical and technical queries
  • Deliver tailored training programmes and empower Trust staff to become confident system users and trainers
  • Facilitate change management activities to support smooth adoption of new workflows
  • Optimise system configuration and clinical workflows post-deployment to ensure safe and effective use
  • Collaborate with clinical teams to develop and refine standard operating procedures
  • Analyse system data to identify risks, highlight best practices, and support continuous improvement
  • Provide ongoing project support, including preparation of new rollout areas and early staff engagement
  • Maintain clear, timely communication with both BD and Trust teams, contributing to regular review meetings

About You

  • Qualified in nursing or pharmacy, with a strong foundation in medication management and clinical training
  • Experienced in hospital settings, with at least five years in nursing or pharmacy services
  • Skilled in delivering training, solving problems, and adapting to evolving clinical environments
  • Confident working independently while building strong relationships across multidisciplinary teams
  • Analytical and detail‑focused, with the ability to interpret data and recommend improvements
  • Holds a valid driving licence and is comfortable working across multiple sites when needed
