  • What You'll Be Doing

As a Bricklaying Apprentice, you'll learn the practical skills and techniques required to become a qualified bricklayer while working on live construction and maintenance projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Learn how to measure work areas and assist with basic setting out.
  • Mix mortar safely and correctly.
  • Lay bricks and blocks under the guidance of experienced operatives.
  • Measure and cut bricks and blocks (under supervision).
  • Learn how to line, level, and gauge brickwork accurately.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
  • Work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Assist with the protection of completed work and construction materials.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and health and safety requirements.
  • Work effectively with colleagues across different teams and departments.
  • Minimise material waste and understand the importance of delivering value for money within a publicly funded organisation.
