BD Group is entering an exciting new chapter — and we’re looking for a visionary, commercially‑driven Executive Director to help shape our future. This is a pivotal role at the heart of our organisation, partnering closely with the Chief Executive and Board to drive commercial excellence, strengthen our traded services, and unlock long‑term sustainable growth.

Responsibilities include:

  • Strategic & P&L Leadership
    • Setting and delivering a 5‑year commercial and business development strategy aligned to Group objectives.
    • Stabilising financial performance while driving revenue growth, margin improvement, and cost efficiency.
    • Leading portfolio and customer profitability analysis to optimise service mix and pricing.
    • Establishing clear KPIs and performance rhythms across win rates, renewals, gross margin, WIP, variation capture, and commercial risk.
  • Commercial Transformation
    • Designing and leading the organisation’s commercial transformation strategy.
    • Embedding new commercial models, processes, and capabilities across the business.
    • Driving cross‑functional change and ensuring disciplined execution of commercial priorities.
    • Influencing senior stakeholders and partners to secure buy‑in and long‑term momentum.
  • Pricing & Revenue Management
    • Setting the long‑range commercial vision for service lines and revenue models.
    • Championing a data‑driven commercial culture using forecasting, insight, and scenario modelling.
    • Owning pricing strategy, rate cards, cost models, and margin guardrails.
    • Strengthening controls around variations, out‑of‑scope works, supplier management, and change orders.
  • Contracting, Partnerships & Commercial Governance
    • Strong financial acumen across P&L, cash flow, WIP, accruals, and revenue recognition.
    • Experience shaping commercial operating models and digital enablement.
  • Governance, Risk & Compliance
    • Experience leading complex transformation programmes with robust governance.
    • Strong understanding of public‑sector procurement and compliance frameworks.
    • Expertise in commercial contract drafting and in‑life contract management.
  • Leadership, Culture & Continuous Improvement
    • Proven leadership of multidisciplinary commercial teams.
    • Ability to embed commercial discipline, continuous improvement, and benefits realisation.
    • Data‑led decision‑maker with a focus on pace, clarity, and measurable outcomes.
    • Resilient, inspiring leader able to guide teams through change.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Skilled at cultivating senior‑level client relationships and shaping future demand.
    • Collaborative, trusted partner who builds strong cross‑functional relationships.
    • Experience in housing, facilities management, property services, or public‑sector partnerships (desirable).
    • Committed to ethical practice, transparency, and upholding the highest standards of conduct.
