Overview
The position of Technical Manager has recently become available at the British Constructional Steelwork Association and is ideal for someone experienced in the fabrication of constructional steelwork. The British Constructional Steelwork Association is the national organisation for the steel construction industry whose member companies undertake the design, fabrication, and erection of steelwork for all forms of buildings and civil engineering.
Responsibilities
- The Technical Manager will report to BCSA's Director of Engineering.
- Assist in developing the technical direction of the association.
- Support BCSA's member companies with their questions on the design and fabrication of steel structures.
- Participate in the development of steel fabrication standards.
- Manage a number of BCSA's working groups.
- Help develop practical design and fabrication guides.
Qualifications
- The successful candidate should be educated to degree level or equivalent and preferably be a chartered structural engineer.
- Experience in writing technical reports and communicating information.
- Experience in the development of national and international standards, and an understanding of fire engineering would be an advantage.
- You should be self-motivated and have good communication and written skills.
You will predominantly work from BCSA's London office and will be required to travel throughout the UK with some nights away.
Salary and Benefits
Salary range: up to Β£80,000, depending on experience. Benefits include a car allowance and employer pension contributions.
