The Marcomms and Events Manager will manage the development and delivery of integrated marketing communications, campaigns and events that engage priority audiences, strengthen the BCS brand and deliver measurable outcomes aligned to organisational priorities, member needs, commercial objectives and BCS's mission to make IT good for society.

The role turns agreed marketing strategies, product propositions and audience priorities into coordinated campaigns, communications and experiences across owned and experiential channels, and manages delivery across the BCS events portfolio.

Working closely with the Marcomms & Events Lead, the role ensures campaigns and events are audience-led, accessible, professionally delivered and demonstrate measurable impact.

Key responsibilities:

Integrated Marketing Communications & Campaign Delivery

  • Manage the development and delivery of integrated marketing communications and campaign plans aligned to BCS priorities, audience needs and growth objectives.
  • Translate product marketing strategies, propositions and audience priorities into compelling multichannel campaigns and communications.
  • Develop clear campaign plans covering objectives, target audiences, messaging, calls to action, channels, timelines, responsibilities and measurement.
  • Coordinate activity across relevant owned and experiential channels, working with colleagues and specialist teams to ensure joined-up delivery.
  • Work closely with Product Marketing and Customer Lifecycle colleagues to create a coherent customer experience from initial awareness through to ongoing engagement.
  • Manage campaign assets and content, ensuring communications are audience-led, accessible, consistent with the BCS brand and delivered to a high professional standard.
  • Monitor delivery against agreed objectives, timelines and KPIs, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

Events Delivery & Partnerships

  • Manage the planning and end-to-end delivery of BCS-owned and external events across in-person, hybrid and virtual formats.
  • Translate the BCS events strategy into effective event plans that support organisational, member and commercial objectives.
  • Manage delivery across flagship events, awards, member activity, webinars and external partner or sponsored events.
  • Develop event plans covering objectives, audiences, programme, promotion, logistics, attendee experience, budgets, suppliers, risk and evaluation.
  • Manage event budgets, suppliers, venues, agencies, sponsors and external partners, ensuring value for money and high-quality delivery.
  • Support sponsorship opportunities in collaboration with the Marcomms & Events Lead, Sales and commercial colleagues.
  • Ensure high standards of attendee experience, brand alignment, accessibility, governance, risk and compliance.
  • Evaluate event performance across engagement, reputation, member value, revenue and ROI.

Brand, Content & Audience Engagement

  • Champion the BCS brand purpose, positioning and identity across campaigns, communications, events and customer touchpoints.
  • Apply BCS brand guidelines, tone of voice, messaging and creative standards across all activity.
  • Manage brand-building activity designed to grow awareness, engagement, advocacy and influence among priority audiences.
  • Provide day-to-day creative oversight of campaigns, communications and organic social media content.
  • Support strategic brand partnerships and affiliations that increase BCS’s reach, relevance and reputation.
  • Use audience insight, customer feedback, brand performance and market trends to improve activity.
  • Oversee the creative asset approval and enabling Community/Marketing Managers to self-serve brand assets

Measurement & Continuous Improvement

  • Establish clear objectives, KPIs and measurement plans for marcomms campaigns and events.
  • Monitor campaign and event performance and provide actionable reporting.
  • Use audience insight, customer feedback and performance data to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Contribute to transparent reporting and accountability for marketing and events investment.

Stakeholder Management & Collaboration

  • Build strong collaborative relationships across Product Marketing, Customer Lifecycle, Membership, Communications, Sales, Learning & Assessment, Professional Standards and other BCS teams.
  • Act as a trusted marketing partner, providing practical advice on integrated communications, campaign activation, events and audience engagement.
  • Develop clear briefs, plans and timelines for colleagues, agencies, suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Manage competing priorities effectively and ensure campaigns and events are coordinated, resourced and delivered.
  • Communicate progress, risks and dependencies clearly, escalating issues where appropriate.
  • When required and agreed in line with resource and capacity planning processes, support the Customer Lifecycle Manager with the delivery and execution of CRM campaigns

People Management & Culture

  • Manage, develop and support the Marcomms & Events Executive, setting clear objectives and providing regular feedback, coaching and development.
  • Promote effective ways of working, collaboration and accountability.
  • Champion BCS values and behaviours and contribute actively to organisational objectives.
  • Foster creativity, inclusion, continuous improvement and customer focus.
  • Promote professional standards, ethical practice and a commitment to making IT good for society.
