The Quantity Surveyor will provide commercial support to project teams, maintain commercial information and ensure compliance with contractual requirements and the Company’s “Three Pillar” objectives. They will liaise with customer representatives and other third parties on commercial issues, including agreement of variations, claims and additional payments.
Projects vary in value, complexity and duration, from established frameworks to bespoke projects and emergency works. With project values from £200k to £10m+, you will drive cost efficiency and provide high-quality commercial analysis, identifying, recording, tracking and realising commercial opportunities whilst mitigating business risk.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure robust, accurate and timely cost and value reporting at project and business unit levels.
- Ensure accurate cash flow reporting.
- Cost management, including forecasting.
- Update the monthly CVR, cost and commercial plans.
- Ensure internal commercial processes are adhered to across the business unit.
- Actively seek to improve processes and procedures.
- Understand processes used by JVs/Alliances and assist in their development.
- Ensure main contracts have appropriate terms and identify commercial risks.
- Engage the supply chain with correct contract terms.
- Build and maintain good client relationships.
- Subcontract letting, negotiation and financial accounting.
- Prepare applications for payment.
