MEICA Estimator – BCS Group
BCS Group is looking for an experienced MEICA Estimator to develop estimates and tenders for our MEICA‑related civil engineering projects across the UK. The role will support the Contracts Manager through the tendering and enabling phases, contributing to the growth of our MEICA business.
Core Responsibilities
- Develop scope of work and tender appraisals in collaboration with the MEICA team.
- Produce bottom‑up cost estimates based on client scope and technical information.
- Manage subcontractor and supply chain enquiries, evaluating tender returns for inclusion in the tender package.
- Prepare budgets and cost plans, ensuring compliance with CPR230 and PL101 governing procedures.
- Capture actual cost data and programme milestones, analysing variances to embed learning into future estimates.
- Communicate effectively with senior management, designers, consultants and project teams on all technical matters.
- Serve as the key point of contact between the project and programme, managing stakeholder communications and key messages.
Essential Qualifications
- Full understanding of MEICA equipment and systems for water and wastewater treatment.
- Experience evaluating supply‑chain proposals for MEICA equipment, including scope of supply and technical compliance.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, develop baseline cost estimates, and produce labour, plant and material cost build‑ups.
- Foundation degree, HNC or equivalent plus foundation degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering.
- Knowledge of NEC contracts and operation of frameworks within the water and wastewater industry.
- Understanding of WIMES Standards.
Desirable
- SMSTS/SSSTS, CSCS card, First Aid, EUSR Water Hygiene card.
- Experience with estimating software such as Candy.
