Starting salary for this role is £48,226 (pro rata for part‑time colleagues). This role is full time – 37 hours per week. This role sits within a well defined pay band, offering clear progression as you grow your career at BCP. BCP Council is looking for a motivated SEND Quality Assurance and Development Manager to play a key role in driving improvement across our SEND services. About The Role
Reporting to a Service Manager or Head of Service, you will provide strategic oversight of SEND quality assurance, performance and service development, ensuring learning is embedded across the system and drives sustained improvement.
- Providing strategic oversight of SEND Quality Assurance, the SEND Local Offer and co‑production
- Oversight and development of the SEND Local Offer, ensuring it is accurate, accessible and informed by lived experience
- Meaningful co‑production with parents, carers, children and young people
- Overseeing SEND quality assurance activity and using findings to drive continuous improvement
- Performance monitoring, analysis and reporting to senior leaders
- Improvement projects and multi‑agency working across the SEND partnership
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading and coordinating SEND quality assurance activity and using findings to drive improvement
- Producing clear, high‑quality performance reports that inform decision‑making and governance
- Embedding co‑production into service design, reporting and development activity
- Working collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to improve outcomes
- Providing management oversight, direction and support within your area of responsibility
- Contributing to service and improvement planning across SEND
About You
You’ll bring:
- Substantial experience in SEND or a comparable statutory or multi‑agency environment
- Strong analytical and performance management skills, with the ability to spot themes, risks and systemic issues
- Experience of driving service improvement through insight, collaboration and influence
- A strong understanding of SEND statutory duties and processes
- Proven experience of meaningful co‑production with children, young people and families
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and produce high‑quality written and verbal reports
You’ll be confident working across organisational boundaries, influencing at senior level, and translating complexity into clear, actionable improvement.
