BCP Council is seeking an experienced senior manager to lead the delivery of coronial and mortuary services across Dorset. This is a high-profile statutory role at the heart of public service, supporting the Coroner and other professional staff to deliver dignified outcomes for bereaved families.
The role:
- You’ll be the senior operational lead for the Coroners Service and Mortuary Service, working closely with the Senior Coroner and key partners including Dorset Council, Dorset Police and health services.
- As the business manager you’ll ensure services are compliant, efficient and responsive, even in the most challenging circumstances.
- From leading and supporting a skilled workforce, managing contracts and budgets, IT support and acting as a Human Tissue Authority licence holder, to playing a critical role in emergency planning for excess deaths and mass fatality incidents – this is a role with real responsibility and real impact and requires a high degree of business administration experience.
Responsibilities:
- You’ll be the senior operational lead for the Coroners Service and Mortuary Service, working with the Senior Coroner and key partners.
- Lead and support a skilled workforce, manage contracts and budgets, and oversee IT support.
- Act as a Human Tissue Authority licence holder.
