Role Overview
Support and Inclusion Officers (SIO) work across BCP to help prevent homelessness. You will support customers experiencing homelessness, assist those in temporary accommodation after hospital discharge, and collaborate with the CEYP and Youth Homelessness Team to place care‑experienced young people and unaccompanied asylum‑seeking children into suitable housing.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide frontline support to individuals experiencing homelessness, helping them secure settled housing.
- Work with customers to identify solutions, reduce reliance on temporary accommodation, and prevent recurrent admissions to hospital or A&E.
- Collaborate with specialist housing officers, hospital teams, and partner agencies to improve outcomes.
- Plan and coordinate accommodation and care placement for care‑experienced young people and unaccompanied asylum‑seeking children.
- Assist with tailored support to maintain accommodation and facilitate move‑on planning.
Qualifications & Skills
- Awareness of homelessness and its root causes.
- Empathy, trauma‑informed support and the ability to put people at ease.
- Strong communication skills and case‑management experience.
- Capacity to manage multiple caseloads with competing demands.
- Collaboration with other teams and partner agencies.
- Creativity in finding solutions to prevent and relieve homelessness.
- Current DBS and suitable Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check.

- A clean driving licence and access to a vehicle.
