We are currently recruiting for a number of exciting Seafront roles here at BCP. Starting salary for this role is £13.45 per hour. This role sits within a well-defined pay band, offering clear progression as you grow your career at BCP. Role Purpose: Traditionally, each lift is run by two operators: a "driver" in the top booth and an assistant at the bottom station. Operators patrol the area, handle card/contactless payments, ensure public safety, and provide tourist information. You may also be required to assist across a number of seafront functions and commercial activities. This is a challenging but rewarding role suited to candidates looking to work in a highly dynamic and varied role with a customer delivery focus. Applicants must be available to start their new role from 16th March 2026.
Main Responsibilities: You will need to be able to work as part of a team and independently as required using your own initiative. You will work proactively with all members of the public and the wider team, including external agencies and contractors. Enthusiasm and commitment to providing a safe, clean and inclusive seafront is essential. To support this, the position involves engaging with the public on public-safety and environmental issues such as litter and ranges from providing tourist information to enforcement of Seafront Bylaws, collecting payments, maximising income and enhancing visitor experience.

The Ideal Candidate: If you are passionate about the local environment and the community benefits it provides, then an exciting opportunity exists for you with BCP Council Seafront Operations. We are looking for enthusiastic, self-motivated, and experienced people to join our Seafront Team. A disposition to promote high standards of customer care and communication skills is essential for this post. You will be an integral member of the Seafront Operations Team ensuring Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole is a great place to live, work and visit.
Successful applicants will be expected to work weekends and bank holidays and for the needs of the business, late night and early working will be required throughout the period of employment. A normal working week would be Tuesday to Friday 9:30 am to 6:00 pm.
