The pay range for this role will be £27,254– £29,540 (pro rata for part time colleagues). We are looking forward to welcoming new colleagues under this refreshed framework of pay, terms, and conditions. To promote fairness and consistency, all new starters will begin at the bottom of the pay band. This reflects our commitment to equity across the organisation and aligns with the approach taken with existing staff during the transition. While the starting salary is fixed, the role offers excellent scope for growth, meaningful contribution, and being part of a forward-thinking team.

Role Purpose

Looking to make a difference? We are looking for a Library Assistant to join Ensbury Park library, delivering important services to local communities. The hours are worked on a Saturday, 9.45am - 1.15pm.

Main Responsibilities

  • Working as part of a team to assist in the effective and efficient operation of the library.
  • Provide excellent customer service, ensuring all customer enquiries are resolved at first point of contact, signposted or referred as appropriate.
  • Aid the public in the use of IT and other library services.
  • Promote the library as a community venue, developing and delivering events and activities for children, young people and adults.

The Ideal Candidate

You should have experience of working in a busy customer service environment and the ability to engage positively with customers of all ages. You will be able to work effectively in a team and unsupervised, and have a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion.
