We’re welcoming new colleagues under a refreshed pay, terms, and conditions framework. All new starters begin at the bottom of the pay band. The Intensive Housing Management team manages BCP Council’s temporary accommodation portfolio, including B&Bs, Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs), Family Hostels, and self-contained properties in both council and private rented sectors. This role delivers bespoke housing management solutions to customers who currently benefit from BCP Council’s homelessness services, with a strong emphasis on collaboration with housing partners to support customers recovering from homelessness to achieve positive outcomes. The post sits within BCP Council’s Strategic Housing team, focusing on providing safe and well-managed properties where customers with complex needs can thrive. The role will positively impact individuals, neighbours, and local communities.

The successful applicant will work with wider teams and partners to resolve housing management issues, including optimising property use through effective voids management, oversight of contracted services, addressing anti-social behaviour, and identifying and supporting vulnerabilities. It will involve working as part of a multi-agency team with agencies such as Dorset Police, NHS, and commissioned support providers.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver bespoke and challenging housing management solutions to customers supported by homelessness services.
  • Collaborate with housing partners to support customers recovering from homelessness to positive outcomes.
  • Manage voids and oversee contracted services to maximise property use.
  • Address anti-social behaviour and identify and support vulnerabilities.
  • Work as part of a multi-agency team with external agencies and service providers.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience in a housing-related setting dealing with complex and challenging issues.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-agency environment with residents and communities.
  • Fluent English is required (see Immigration Act note).
