Starting salary for this role is £39,152 (pro rata for part‑time colleagues). This role sits within a well defined pay band, offering clear progression as you grow your career at BCP. All new starters begin at the entry point of the band, ensuring fairness and consistency across the organisation. Internal colleagues are normally appointed at the bottom of the band, unless moving within the same profession and skill level, in which case they can be appointed to the existing pay point.

About The Role

As an Education, Health and Care Co‑ordinator, you will:

  • Act as the named officer for a caseload of children and young people with SEND
  • Manage statutory EHC assessments and reviews, ensuring timescales, quality standards and outcomes are met
  • Work closely with parents, carers, schools, colleges, health and social care partners to coordinate a joined‑up assessment process
  • Champion the voice of the child or young person, ensuring their views influence planning and outcomes
  • Support families to understand their rights and navigate complex statutory processes
  • Contribute to placement decisions, funding considerations and transition planning
  • Represent the local authority in meetings, annual reviews and where required mediation or dispute resolution

About You

  • Experienced in working with children, young people and families, particularly in sensitive or complex situations
  • Confident managing casework, deadlines and competing priorities in a statutory environment
  • Knowledgeable about the SEND legal and statutory framework, or able to develop this expertise quickly
  • A strong communicator, able to build positive professional relationships and handle challenging conversations with empathy
  • Organised, analytical and solution‑focused, with the ability to make evidence‑based recommendations
  • Educated to degree level or with equivalent relevant experience

Experience of working across multi‑agency settings, managing confidential information and contributing to service improvement will be particularly valuable.
