The predicted salary is between 33699 - 39152 Β£ per year.
The pay range for this role is Β£33,699βΒ£39,152 (pro rata for part-time colleagues). Weβre welcoming new colleagues under a refreshed framework of pay, terms, and conditions. To promote fairness, all new starters will begin at the bottom of the pay band.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Cultural Development team at BCP Council, on a part-time fixed-term basis until May 2027, delivering projects that engage community and cultural groups and support cultural activity across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole. Projects range from events and festivals to community programmes, artist development schemes, public realm art and heritage-based projects. The post-holder will have the opportunity to make a huge difference to the lives of people across the conurbation, positively impacting health and wellbeing by increasing opportunities for everyone to engage in cultural experiences.
Main Responsibilities
- Ensuring various public and community engagement activities are delivered for the Arts by the Sea Festival.
- Leading on delivery of a range of public art interventions for the Levelling Up Coastal Public Art Programme.
The Role in Addition
- Engage with various creative community networks, organisations and individuals, supporting cultural projects across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.
- With support, seek funding opportunities and apply for funding to support cultural activities and programmes.
- Control costs and maximise income to meet budget targets and ensure cost-effective delivery of activities and projects.
- Contribute to wider cultural planning and strategy-making.
The role involves attendance at events with walking, standing, lifting and moving equipment, and exposure to noise and adverse weather conditions. Occasional night work, unsociable hours, weekends and bank holidays may be required.
The Ideal Candidate
- Experience in planning, managing and leading or coordinating cultural projects, and knowledge of the local cultural sector and community arts organisations and networks.
- Ability to manage collaborative and inclusive projects, strong organisation, attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel by public transport or with a valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle or pool car as required.
- Flexible working is available.
