The pay range for this role will be £42,839– £49,282 (pro rata for part time colleagues). BCP Council is seeking an experienced and compassionate senior manager to lead the delivery of coronial and mortuary services across Dorset. This is a high‑profile statutory role at the heart of public service, supporting bereaved families with professionalism, dignity and care.
The role
- You’ll be the senior operational lead for the Coroners Service and Mortuary Service, working closely with the Senior Coroner and key partners including Dorset Council, Dorset Police and health services.
- You’ll ensure services are compliant, efficient and responsive, even in the most challenging circumstances.
- From leading and supporting a skilled workforce, managing contracts and budgets, and acting as a Human Tissue Authority licence holder, to playing a critical role in emergency planning for excess deaths and mass fatality incidents – this is a role with real responsibility and real impact.
